This guide originally compared similarly named products. Those products can change independently, so this page focuses on the Scramdle modes we can describe directly. Scramdle is an independent word-game service.
You do not need to choose one style of wordplay. The Play page brings daily scrambles, Grid puzzles and training modes together, while the Arena is home to battles.
Daily play and unlimited practice
Daily Scramdle is a sequence of 15 timed anagrams. Grid is a hidden-word puzzle in three lengths: five, seven and nine letters. Both offer a shared challenge that changes at midnight Eastern.
Practice sessions use randomized words at your selected difficulty. Time Attack adds a clock and a score to chase. The Archive returns to an earlier daily challenge when you want to replay it.
Competition with a clear distinction
Ranked battles pair two players with the same word sequence and clock. The result updates a skill rating; the first ten battles are provisional while the estimate develops.
Friendly rooms and computer opponents are unrated. They let you learn the format without moving your online rank. A bot is always labeled as a bot, so you know who—or what—you are playing.
