THE SCRAMDLE PLAYBOOK

A game for every kind of word person.

Find your mode. Learn the rhythm. Make your next move.

Daily Scramdle

Solve 15 words: five easy, five medium and five hard. Easy words allow 30 seconds, medium 60 and hard 90. Faster answers earn bonus points. Three hints per round reveal starting letters and cost 25 points each. Valid alternative anagrams count.

Grid: Classic, Advanced and Expert

Find a five-, seven- or nine-letter word in six guesses. Green means the letter is correctly placed. Gold means it belongs elsewhere. Gray means that copy of the letter is not available in the answer. Repeated letters are counted precisely. Hard mode requires reuse of revealed green and gold clues.

Each Grid length and Daily Scramdle rotate at midnight Eastern. Scramdle uses its own word schedule and is independent of the official Wordle daily puzzle.

Practice, Time Attack and the Archive

Practice has no timer and offers unlimited hints and attempts. Choose a difficulty and session length. Time Attack starts with three minutes; each correct word adds ten seconds. Skips add no time, and three hints are available.

Archive games replay a past daily scramble without changing today’s streak. Practice, Time Attack and battles select randomized words with recent-word avoidance. Timers continue if you close the game or lose your connection.

Battles and ratings

Two players get the same sequence and three minutes. Each correct answer earns 100 points. There are no hints, powerups or time bonuses. The higher score wins; equal scores draw.

Ranked results use a Glicko skill rating, including rating confidence. The first ten battles are provisional. Friendly rooms and explicitly labeled bots are unrated and never affect the online leaderboard.

Streaks and fair play

Complete Daily Scramdle or a daily Grid to keep your daily activity going. Practice, archives and bot battles do not extend your daily streak. Your profile shows earned progress and available rewards; battle modes never allow powerups.

Play scored challenges yourself. Outside solvers, automation and arranged outcomes are not allowed in ranked or daily competition. Review the Terms of Service for the full fair-play rules.
